Boston (horse)
Boston (1833–1850), was an outstanding chestnut Thoroughbred racehorse and a Leading sire in North America three times from 1851 to 1853. He started in about 45 races, winning 40 of these, including 15 in succession. Boston was later one of the initial inductees into the Hall of Fame.
Breeding
He was a chestnut stallion with a white blaze on his nose and he was foaled in Richmond, Virginia. Boston was bred by the Virginia attorney John Wickham (who had been Aaron Burr's counsel in his trial for treason). He was by the very good racehorse, Timoleon (by the great Sir Archy), his dam was Sister to Tuckahoe by Ball’s Florizel. Boston was inbred to Diomed in the third generation (3m x 3f). He was a half-brother to the Shylock mare who founded a successful family. They were from the number 40 family which traced back to the imported mare, Kitty Fisher.
As a two-year-old, Boston was lost by his breeder in a card game and was given to Wickham's friend Nathaniel Rives, of Richmond to repay his debt of $800. He was named after a popular card game and later given the nickname of "Old Whitenose". Boston had a wilful temperament and was difficult to train. Sent to the stable of John Belcher, and then to the trainer L. White, and then back to Belcher, White said, "The horse should either be castrated or shot—preferably the latter."

Boston (dance)
The Boston refers to a series of various step dances, considered a slow Americanized version of the waltz presumably named after where it originated. It is completed in one measure with the weight kept on the same foot through two successive beats. The "original" Boston is also known as the New York Boston or Boston Point.

How to use a Boston Shaker: Techniques from the Cocktail Dudes
We love the Boston shaker. We reach for it when our recipe calls for muddling an ingredient, or when we want a quick no-nonsense chilling device. You'll need to become adept at "cracking" the shaker (opening it just enough in the horizontal position to allow the cocktail to flow out around the ice) or use a julep or Hawthorne strainer to hold back the ice and other non-liquid ingredients as you fill your cocktail glass. The Boston shaker consists of a thick-walled "pint" glass and a slightly larger diametered stainless steel "tin" which tops the glass. We love the Boston shaker. We reach for it when our recipe calls for muddling an ingredient, or when we want a quick no-nonsense chilling device. You'll need to...
We love the Boston shaker. We reach for it when our recipe calls for muddling an ingredient, or when we want a quick no-nonsense chilling device. You'll need to become adept at "cracking" the shaker (opening it just enough in the horizontal position to allow the cocktail to flow out around the ice) or use a julep or Hawthorne strainer to hold back the ice and other non-liquid ingredients as you fill your cocktail glass. The Boston shaker consists of a thick-walled "pint" glass and a slightly larger diametered stainless steel "tin" which tops the glass. Your ingredients (and ice) are placed into the glass; the glass gets snugly topped with the tin; and the joined pieces are inverted and shaken. After shaking, the joined shaker is placed on the bar with the tin on the bottom. The glass is released by sharply smacking the tin near its top while bracing the tin against the lip of the glass on the opposing side.

Boston (horse)
Boston (1833–1850), was an outstanding chestnut Thoroughbred racehorse and a Leading sire in North America three times from 1851 to 1853. He started in about 45 races, winning 40 of these, including 15 in succession. Boston was later one of the initial inductees into the Hall of Fame.
Breeding
He was a chestnut stallion with a white blaze on his nose and he was foaled in Richmond, Virginia. Boston was bred by the Virginia attorney John Wickham (who had been Aaron Burr's counsel in his trial for treason). He was by the very good racehorse, Timoleon (by the great Sir Archy), his dam was Sister to Tuckahoe by Ball’s Florizel. Boston was inbred to Diomed in the third generation (3m x 3f). He was a half-brother to the Shylock mare who founded a successful family. They were from the number 40 family which traced back to the imported mare, Kitty Fisher.
As a two-year-old, Boston was lost by his breeder in a card game and was given to Wickham's friend Nathaniel Rives, of Richmond to repay his debt of $800. He was named after a popular card game and later given the nickname of "Old Whitenose". Boston had a wilful temperament and was difficult to train. Sent to the stable of John Belcher, and then to the trainer L. White, and then back to Belcher, White said, "The horse should either be castrated or shot—preferably the latter."

Shaker
The shaker is undoubtedly the most iconic cocktail tool. As such, it is imperative that you choose the right style of shaker for you! There are two primary types of shaker: the two-piece and the three-piece. The two-piece shaker, also known as a Boston shaker, consists of two different sized ‘tins’ which are wedged into one another. The three-piece shaker, often called a Manhattan shaker, has an inbuilt strainer on top, which is covered with a third, removable, cap piece.
There are two key benefits of using a two-piece shaker. Firstly, there’s a greater amount of space for the ice to move, which, in turn, creates more aeration – ideal for cocktails! Secondly, when accustomed to using a two-piece shaker, you will find it is much quicker and more streamlined than a three-piece. Hence, the Boston Shaker is typically what most bartenders use.
The three-piece also has two notable benefits. Principally, the removable cap piece which eliminates the need for a separate strainer. There is also no need for you to master the forming and breaking of a seal – as with a Boston style two-piece shaker – as a result, it’s a popular choice for many home bars. We love the Boston shaker. We reach for it when our recipe calls for muddling an ingredient, or when we want a quick no-nonsense chilling device. You'll need to become adept at "cracking" the shaker (opening it just enough in the horizontal position to allow the cocktail to flow out around the ice) or use a julep or Hawthorne strainer to hold back the ice and other non-liquid ingredients as you fill your cocktail glass. The Boston shaker consists of a thick-walled "pint" glass and a slightly larger diametered stainless steel "tin" which tops the glass. Your ingredients (and ice) are placed into the glass; the glass gets snugly topped with the tin; and the joined pieces are inverted and shaken. After shaking, the joined shaker is placed on the bar with the tin on the bottom. The glass is released by sharply smacking the tin near its top while bracing the tin against the lip of the glass on the opposing side.

The #21 Orange came from behind to get the 75-63 win on the road against the Eagles. This game was dominated by a great performance from Dyaisha Fair, who scored over half of Syracuse's total points. Fair scored 38 total points in the game on 13-25 shooting, including 5-11 from three-point range. Alaina Rice added 10 points and four steals for the Orange. Teya Sidberry led Boston College with 23 points and 11 rebounds. JoJo Lacy scored 21 points off the bench for the Eagles.

Đầu thế kỷ 19, điệu valse trở thành phổ biến tại nhiều khu của Đức và Áo, những biến thể phát triển lấy tên của các miền địa phương nguồn gốc. Sự biến thể thành ra "Landl của cái Enns" ở Bắc Áo trở nên rất phổng thống, và được biết đến ít nhiều với tên gọi Landler. Năm 1800, nhịp điệu ấy được múa với những bước lượn và quay như điệu valse nhưng với một nhịp chậm hơn.
Cùng thời có xuất hiện ở Mỹ đến năm 1870 một loại khiêu vũ với tên Boston, có quan hệ với điệu valse nhưng múa với nhịp điêu 2 hoặc 3 chậm, các đôi nhảy giữ mông của họ.
Boston hoặc là Valse Anglaise: Boston còn gọi là valse anglaise là một loại nhạc khiêu vũ giống như valse, viết với 3 thì, nhịp 3/4. Nhưng Boston được diễn tả chậm hơn valse và java
Nhịp điệu Boston rất được ưa chuộng tại VN cũng như trên toàn thế giới vì nó đáp ứng được sự phô diễn tâm tình chán chường, đau đớn và thất vọng vô cùng.
